Last Friday evening, after the tragic shootings in Connecticut, a group of nearly 100 gathered at The Compassionate Friends of Ottawa County’s Children’s Memorial in Lakeview Park for a candle-light observance.
Island Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary was transporting Butterscotch, a German Short haired pointer. She made a four hour trip while in labor and was supposed to be boarded at Oak Harbor Pet Haven. Instead Butterscotch’s first puppy was born two hours after arriving at ISHAS.
Paula Eberle, at the Immaculate Conception Church cookie walk, with her purchase. Paula baked cookies for the ICC cookie walk last Saturday and for the Humane Society cookie walk the same day. Paula has a very busy oven, as she also bakes cookies as gifts for friends and family.
At Immaculate Conception Catholic Church last weekend over 100 manger scenes were displayed. For the eighth year individuals and families brought in their personal manger scenes, from miniature to nearly life-sized, to share with others.
