A salute from service members as the wreaths were tossed into the lake
Three nations’ flags flew high next to Perry’s Victory & International Peace Memorial on Tuesday, Sept. 10, those of Great Britain, Canada and the United States of America. Three national anthems were sung, God Save the Queen, O Canada and The Star Spangled Banner. A Native American blessing was given for the native people who had lost their lives in battle.
There has been much positive feedback from visitors, organizers, and participants at the Bicentennial celebration last weekend. What can we quantify, ahead of the final numbers and economic impact estimates?
Those who like to sew are invited to gather Saturday, Sept. 21st, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Community Room of Ida Rupp Public Library, 310 Madison Street in Port Clinton, to sew pillowcases for kids hospitalized here in Northwest Ohio.
