Edgewood Manor welcomes new Facility Rehabilitation Director

Edgewood Manor Nursing Center in Port Clinton is pleased to announce the addition of Michael Lopez, PTA, to the rehabilitation team.  Lopez brings six  years of experience to the therapy setting.  He is a graduate of Rhodes State College with a degree in Applied Science and Physical Therapist Assistant.  He is currently  finishing his Bachelors of Science degree at The University of Michigan. All of his work experience has been in long term care. 

Originally from Leipsic, Lopez is pleased to be back in his home state after working in Michigan and Texas. He has a well established reputation in the long term care industry for quality of care and for achieving superior outcomes for patients needing rehabilitation.  He has extensive experience and training in a wide range of rehab areas including orthopedic, muscle strains, joint strains, post stroke care, spine pain and dysfunction, vestibular rehab and other areas of therapeutic need. 

“I am thrilled to be a part of the Edgewood Manor team.  The high quality of care that our rehabilitation department provides to this community is an outstanding testament to the staff and I am proud to work with each of them,” stated Lopez.

Michael lives in Marblehead with his wife Emily and has two daughters.  He is looking forward to continuing his service to the community.

Edgewood Manor receives Customer Experience Award

Edgewood Manor Nursing Center of Port Clinton is proud to announce that they are the recipient of Pinnacle Quality Insight’s 2014 Customer Experience AwardTM. Qualifying for the award in the categories of Dining Services, Activities and Safety and Security, Edgewood Manor Nursing Center displayed a continued dedication to providing Best in Class senior healthcare services.

Denice Day, Executive Director of Edgewood Manor, describes receiving the awards as an honor, stating that, “We strive to provide quality services to our residents and their families. We are thrilled that our staff has been recognized for their hard work and dedication.”

Toledo Symphony String Quartet to play at Edgewood Manor and the Vineyard

Thanks to a grant from the Ottawa County Community Foundation, the Toledo Symphony String Quartet will perform at two Port Clinton retirement communities on Wednesday, Feb. 12. 

Edgewood Manor Nursing Care Center, Fulton St., Port Clinton, will host the group at 1:30 p.m., with refreshments provided by Home Instead.  The Vineyard on Catawba, 3820 E. Vineyard Village Drive, will host the quartet at 3 p.m.  

Admission is free and family, friends and the public are invited to attend both of these concerts.  The concerts have been arranged by the Musical Arts Series at Firelands.
