About 550 job seekers attended the annual Spring Job Fair yesterday on March 5 at Terra State Community College.
Representatives from more than 70 area businesses were on hand to discuss full-time, part-time and seasonal job openings.
“This was our largest job fair yet,” said Joan Gamble, Coordinator of Career Services. “It was great to see many new business participants this year. Hopefully that’s a good sign for the economy.”
Lisa Dewey, Work Experience Advisor, helped organize the event and was happy to see determined job seekers.
“There are some years that you see quite a few people who are just curious,” she said. “But this year, I saw lots of serious job seekers. They were prepared.”
The next job fair at Terra State will be in the fall.
