Kwest wins two national awards!

Kwest Group announces national recognition from Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) with the receipt of two national awards. Kwest Group representatives received both the National Safety Excellence Award and the Excellence in Construction Eagle Award on February 20, 2013 during the 23rd Annual Excellence in Construction Awards celebration in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida

National Safety Excellence Award

“ABC is proud to honor Kwest Group with a National Safety Excellence Award for demonstrating an extraordinary commitment to safety and outstanding safety performance,” said Michael D. Bellaman, ABC President and CEO. “Kwest Group has truly shown a dedication to becoming one of the leaders for the industry by striving to create the safest work environment possible for its employees.”  During the selection process, winners were judged on lost workday case rates, total recordable rates, leading indicator use, process and program innovations, and interviews conducted by members of ABC’s National Environment, Health & Safety Committee.  Only 15 National Safety Excellence Awards are presented annually.

Excellence in Construction Eagle Award

The Excellence in Construction awards program is the industry’s leading competition, developed to honor innovative and high-quality merit shop construction projects. The winning projects, selected from entries submitted from across the nation, were judged on complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges overcome, completion time, workmanship, innovation, safety, and cost.  “ABC is proud to recognize Kwest Group for its outstanding work on the Reconstruct Rodriguez Firing Range Berm Project,” said Michael D. Bellaman, ABC President and CEO. “This project [Camp Perry, Port Clinton, Ohio] embodies a commitment to innovation, safety and superior craftsmanship through creativity and skill.”

Kwest performed the project as a subcontractor and completed the reconstruction of the 100-year-old firing range ahead of schedule despite one of the wettest periods on record in Northern Ohio. A panel of industry experts served as the competition’s judges.

“Being recognized as one of America's safest contractors by the Associated Builders & Contractors is recognition Kwest is proud to have earned,” said Ryan Odendahl, President of Kwest Group.  “We prioritize and thrive on safety performance, for our employees and for our clients. We have maintained a ZERO recordable incident workplace since 2007. Kwest has proven its pledge to safety, quality, and customer service on the project and throughout the organization. These awards prove that our dedication to safety and commitment to providing our clients a high quality, successful project, are truly important distinctions recognized in our industry.”
