Bassett’s Market switches weekly fliers to The Beacon Featured

Beacon Publisher John Schaffner welcomes Mike Bassett and the Bassett's Market flier to The Beacon family of insert customers.

Bassett’s Market, a locally owned family business who has called Ottawa County its home since the late 1800s, has announced a major change in its marketing direction. As of Oct. 24, the famous Bassett’s weekly flier will now be a regular insert into The Beacon.

“We are excited about partnering with John Schaffner and The Beacon,” said store owner Mike Bassett. “Their audited circulation and readership are a perfect match for our store and our customers.”

Beacon publisher John Schaffner stated, “We have had Bassett’s Market as a customer for a long period of years, and I have always enjoyed our relationship with Mike and his loyal staff. It has always been a question of date of release for the flier. However, market circumstances have changed dramatically in the last 10 years, and Mike feels the need to get his message out there to the maximum number of folks.”

Bassett’s Market is not only Ottawa County’s largest locally owned and independent grocery retailer, they are also one of Ottawa County’s biggest community contributors. A case in point is that they are the sponsor for the next event for the Firelands Musical Arts Series. Bassett’s has traditionally supported local charities in the community and has given thousands of dollars back in contributions and sponsorships.
