Jaclyn Favro, in her new business Little Shop of Hair

Venturing out on her own after working in the industry of 15 years, Jaclyn Favro has found a welcome home for her new salon, Little Shop of Hair, at the Sutton Center in Port Clinton. She was working at Pin Ups Hair Studio on Madison St. until the shop was relocating to a smaller venue so Favro decided to explore her options. While visiting the Sutton Center, she saw an office vacancy and thought about the aspect of opening a small business in Port Clinton.

“Port Clinton is an embracing community. It’s a little bigger than where I am originally from (Oak Harbor) and they’re very supportive; especially of small business,” said Favro. “I thought my customers would miss the hustle and bustle of a big salon, but it’s nice to have a small, calm environment.”

The Sutton Center is becoming home to many niche businesses in town and becoming a one stop shop destination for many residents. Visitors can stop and have lunch at Common Grounds, get their hair done at Little Shop of Hair, visit Hand in Hand Nail Designs and then go to the Massage Therapy Clinic for a massage. Those are just some of the services that the Sutton Center offers. The building is also home to the United Way, CASA, WSOS, Heartbeat and many other organizations that help the community in many ways.

“Any day that I can come to work and it smells like bacon and donuts is a good day,” said Favro. “A client told me recently that she loves my new shop; it’s in a new building, it’s a very cheery atmosphere and it’s a great environment.”
