Ferguson Gallery holds open house to celebrate new Ferguson-Fenton Artistic Bead

One year ago in Marblehead, marked a historic event as Ferguson Gallery and the Fenton Glass Company collaborated on a hand-crafted, artistic glass bead.  The significance of the creative collaboration is rooted in a century-old tale of American craftsmanship. Fenton Glass Company, established in 1905, created a glass product that would compete with Tiffany and Steuben all while making products unique to the company and to Ohio as well.  Ferguson Gallery, having its own rich history, is another Ohio glass producer known for creating world class originals which have been enjoyed in many countries across the globe.

Part of what makes Ferguson Gallery so special is Cary Ferguson’s exploration of oil painting as a creative medium. This makes the Ferguson-Fenton collaboration exciting as the new bead will address every aspect of each producer’s unique history.  The new bead will be based on Cary’s Sunflower Study oil paintings.  Every new and exclusive glass bead will contain a hand-painted sunflower made to represent Cary’s original oil paintings.  The new bead release comes only a year after Ferguson and Fenton co-released a Marblehead Lighthouse Bead.  The Marblehead Lighthouse Bead was rated a wild success by shoppers as almost every bead sold out the first day it was made available.

Ferguson Gallery has also announced the spectacular nature of the event which will include live glass blowing demos, live painting by Deborah Prue and a special glass blowing workshop.  As a one-time-offer to the public, the glass blowers at Ferguson Gallery will invite everyone to use Ferguson’s very popular and proprietary, Lake Erie color schemes in pieces made by participants.  Additionally, a Fenton Art Glass jewelry representative will be on site for the unveiling of the new Ferguson-Fenton Sunflower Bead.

The Ferguson Gallery Open House will be held on Saturday, August 23 and on Sunday, August 24 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.  The event will be held at Ferguson Gallery in Marblehead.  The glass blowing workshop is on a first come, first serve basis. other questions or comments regarding the event, feel free to call or email at the contact information listed below.  We look forward to seeing you there!
