Kerynn Christiansen ICS principal for a day

Miss Kerynn Christiansen reported for duty on Thursday, Feb. 13, for her new position at Immaculate Conception School. Kerynn was “Principal for a Day” at ICS. The first grader took the place of Principal Connie Snyder, for just one day. Kerynn wasted no time at all making a few small changes to the normal school day at ICS. She reported for duty with a list of priorities she would put into effect immediately.

First and foremost, everyone was permitted to give the school uniform a rest for the day and wear their jeans to school. Secondly, recess was a bit longer on Thursday and an important task was given by Principal Kerynn to the entire school. Each class had to build a snowman, the biggest and best snowman they could as a team create. Kerynn rewarded her hardworking students by delivering pizza to each classroom after recess.

With Mrs. Snyder’s guidance, Kerynn also helped with many office tasks. She even completed classroom inspections. At the end of the school day, Kerynn took to the PA system to tell the school that she had a great day being in charge and she hoped they all did, too.

Being Principal for a Day was auctioned off at last year’s Immaculate Conception School auction. This year’s auction is April 26 and the theme is “Happy 90th Birthday ICS”, as the school embarks on celebrating 90 years of providing a faith filled education in Port Clinton. Immaculate Conception School would be so grateful for any monetary gifts or donations of products or services from our community for this year’s auction. If you have an item you would like to offer to this year’s school auction, call the school office at 419.734.3315.
