Nationwide announces Ohio State partnership

For more than 30 years, Nationwide and OSU have worked collaboratively on a wide variety of projects that support and benefit Buckeyes everywhere. Taking that to the next level, they have announced a 10 year agreement that establishes Nationwide Insurance as the official insurance sponsor for the university community. The newly expanded partnership will provide exclusive discounts on insurance products for members of the Ohio State community. Alumni, faculty, staff and students within the Ohio State University are included and apply to auto, home and life insurance. The unique partnership formalizes the long standing relationship between the Ohio State University and Nationwide Insurance.

Mike Snider, president of the Ohio State Alumni Club of Ottawa County, said this is a win-win for its members.

“Rick Nemecek, our local Nationwide representative, has been a big supporter of our organization for many years. Now our members have a chance to save money on their insurance and to support Rick’s agency,” said Snider.

Nemecek agreed that the collaboration is a win for both Nationwide and Ohio State.

“Our agency is really excited to start working with the OSU alumni in the area,” said Nemecek.

The agreement includes the following:

  • A commitment by Nationwide to create 40 internships on an annual basis for qualifying Ohio State students in various fields
  • A commitment by Nationwide to underwrite the Risk Institute at Ohio State. Housed in the Fisher College of Business, the Risk Institute combines educational research and academic leadership with practical business application to provide students with the opportunity to make a real impact on the business community
  • A commitment by Nationwide to partner with Ohio State to create a co-investment fund designed to support a variety of programs
