Joan Washburn has joined the Bohlander Challenge Gift in honor of Ron Case for United Way in Ottawa County. Joan will offer her training session, “Advancing on the Playing Field of Life” on Monday, Feb. 25, from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. at The Sutton Center, 1854 E Perry St., Port Clinton. The suggested donation of $10 will be given to United Way. For every dollar raised, Tom Bohlander will match it.

Kopf Builders announced the addition to their team of Ellen Calzonetti Dress as Sales Director. Dress will focus exclusively on Harbor’s Edge and The Sanctuary at the Catawba Island Club. She will be assisting Joe Bolognia, Project Manager, throughout the sales and marketing process.

My personal thanks to all who turned out, or wanted to, for last Thursday’s PC Chamber Business After Hours at the 1812 Restaurant in the Island House. According to Laura Schlachter at the Chamber, they counted 110 business cards turned in for registration, but the estimate of the number attending was well over that. The event was our official observance of the 30th Anniversary of The Beacon. As I said in my little speech that night, “every face is a memory”. We won’t officially observe our 30th until next week.
