Rock & Roll returns to Fort Firelands’ stage

Fort Firelands RV Resort located on OH163 at 269 will be hosting “Gathering at the Fort” featuring the Third Degree Band on Saturday, July 27, from 5 to 9 p.m. Third Degree Band is a local band consisting of Rich Wyde on drums, Mike Hauke on bass and Don Lombardy on guitar. The members of the band have been playing together for many years. When asked how long, they say, “We are three old guys that love to play, do it well, and have a good time. We really enjoy entertaining.” They add, ”We may be old but we don’t know it.” Third Degree Band plays the rock classics like ZZTop, Tom Petty, The Beatles and a host of other bands. They may even throw in some Taylor Swift to keep things fresh.

“It’s been a long time since Fort Firelands has hosted a rock band,” says Jeff Barton, one of Fort Firelands owners. “We have heard many stories about the old days when bands like Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper and Steppenwolf had graced the Fort’s stage. The acoustics in the Fort complex are great and we are looking forward to having a band. We have seen Third Degree Band perform and enjoyed their music.”

The public is invited to this free concert event. If you like classic rock & roll music, grab your cooler and a chair or blanket and come to the Fort. Food will be available from Port-N-Starboard Restaurant.
