Gem Beach Rocks VI is fast approaching. At Gem Beach on Catawba Island on Aug. 17, from noon to 8 p.m., celebrants will gather on the shores of Lake Erie to enjoy a day filled with music, food and cold beverages.
Guest Emcee is The Honorable Kathleen Giesler, Judge of the Ottawa County Probate Juvenile Court.
The headliner band is Wally and the Beavs, along with The Reese Dailey Band, Ronnie Howard with Cruisin’, and The Junk, classic rock and roll music all day.
This year there will be a festival flair with new food vendors and crafters, and 50/50 drawings for cash prizes will be held throughout the day. Title sponsors for this all day rock ‘n roll concert are FriendShip Food Stores, MIX 102.7 WCPZ – 100.9 COAST COUNTRY – EAGLE 99 – 92.1 THE WOLF – WLEC 1450AM, The Beacon, WPCR Port Clinton Radio, Gem Beach Marina, Lake Erie Shores and Islands, USG, Janotta & Herner, Hart Advertising, and Croghan Colonial Bank. Admission is $10 and all proceeds benefit United Way in Ottawa County.

Also at Gem Beach Rocks this year is the debut of United Way’s Caring Club card, which rewards those who donate $13 a month to United Way with a Caring Club card for discounts at participating business in Lucas, Wood and Ottawa County.
