Fort Firelands RV Resort’s 2014 Rockin’ the Fort free summer concert series starts July 19. “We are excited about getting the concerts started this year” said Jeff Barton, one of Fort Firelands’ owners. “Last year was the first year for this concert series and we had a great time getting music back on the Fort stage. This year the bands are calling us to see if they can get a chance to play at the Fort and we have four acts booked already for this year.”
Third Degree Band, with their added keyboard sound, will kick off the series on July 19 from 5-9 p.m. Sparrow McGee will play a mix of rock and pop with a blend of brass and electric instruments on July 26 from 5-9 p.m. August 9 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. will showcase New England-based Margie Warner’s “Singin’ ‘Round the Campfire” family show. Margie will perform her original, interactive kid and family-friendly campfire fun songs. Free Beer will play their mix of old and new rock classics on August 16 from 5-9 p.m.
Local residents as well as area visitors are invited to these free concert events. Bring your lawn chairs or a blanket, your coolers and the whole family to this unique outdoor venue for some good music and good times. Fort Firelands is located at 5650 East Harbor Road in Marblehead, corner of 163 & 269.
