Ugandan kids choir to perform in Port Clinton Featured

On Wednesday, August 6, at Lakeview Park in Port Clinton, Truth Ministries is sponsoring an energetic and entertaining free concert from a very special group of children from Uganda. There will be a free community meal served at 6:30 p.m. with the concert to follow at 7 p.m. Since seating is limited, it is suggested that concert goers  bring their own chairs or blankets.

The children in the Ugandan Kids Choir bring a message of hope—sharing their African folklore and the power of God’s love through music and dance. They are the fortunate few who have been rescued from poverty and are now a voice for children who are still waiting to be sponsored. Each year, the choir tours around the country and gives people an opportunity to provide children in developing countries with an education and a hope for a future.

“Our local community will have the opportunity to enjoy an authentic African experience and to make a lasting difference in the lives of impoverished children around the world," stated Brian Hild the Pastor of Truth Ministries. “It is our hope and prayer that many in the area will take the opportunity to experience this unique event.”

Truth Ministries is a non-denominational church located in Gypsum across from the Ottawa County Airport. In addition to their regularly scheduled services at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, they have several other ministries offered to the local community. A Food Pantry is open every Monday and Wednesday and a Resale Shop with very low cost items is open Monday, Wednesday and Saturdays. On Wednesday evenings, the church sponsors a free community meal. This meal is served at 6:30 p.m. at Lakeview Park in the summer months and at the church during the colder seasons.
