Check out Jerry Davenport live at the season’s first Riverfront Live! under the canopy on North Jefferson Street. The free summer concert series is held on Friday evenings in downtown Port Clinton. The Portage River is the backdrop for some fantastic entertainers.
Davenport is a native of Catawba Island. He is an artist and a songwriter. His songs reflect his lifelong experiences of growing up near the shores of Lake Erie, some nostalgic, some funny. Songs like “Leaving an Island in My Wake,” “APB at PIB” and “We Did Everything That Ends in ‘ing’ but Fish,” are a few. He also has written many a love song and a few country songs such as “You Look Stupid in a Cowboy Hat.” He has recently written a song called “Our Old Lyman” about his memories of Lake Erie adventures on his dad’s Lyman.
The free Riverfront Live! outdoor summer music program is sponsored by Main Street Port Clinton. For a complete schedule of performers for the 2012 season, go to www.historicportclinton.com
