MarineMax will host Kids Activity Area at Walleye Festival

Children of all ages are invited to attend the MarineMax Kids Activity Area at the Main Street Port Clinton Walleye Festival on Saturday, May 24, from 2:30-4:30 p.m.  Michael Mage, “a comedian stuck in a Magician’s shoes”, will be performing and entertaining children of all ages.  Free activities include arts and crafts, cookie decorating, face painting and balloon animals.  There will also be a petting zoo and the OSU Buckeye Mobile Tour.

Skipper Bud’s Kids Fishing Derby scheduled for May 25

The Skipper Bud’s Kids Fishing Derby at the Main Street Port Clinton Walleye Festival is scheduled for Sunday, May 25, at 12 p.m.  This free family-oriented event will take place at Derby Pond.

All children ages 12 and under are invited to participate.  Trophies for each age group will be awarded in each of the following categories: longest, shortest, most fish caught, and most unique.  Trophies will be presented in the Entertainment Tent immediately following the Derby.

A limited number of fishing poles will be provided.  Children are encouraged to bring their own lucky pole. Bait will be provided.

Each registrant will receive a goody bag.  Registration begins day of the event at 11 a.m. at Derby Pond.  Please complete the registration form in advance and bring with you the day of the event, to help expedite the registration process.

Registration forms for the Skipper Bud’s Kids Fishing Derby can be picked up at the Main Street Port Clinton office located at 110 Madison Street in downtown or by downloading the form at the walleyefestival.com.

Walleye Festival honors Devin Kohlman as Grande Marshall

Main Street Port Clinton Walleye Festival’s distinguished 2014 Grand Marshall is Devin Michael Kohlman. Each year Main Street Port Clinton recognizes an individual at the Walleye Festival who has made a positive impact on the Port Clinton community. 

There are no words that can describe what Devin Michael Kohlman did for the Port Clinton community.  His strength, his fight, and his love brought Port Clinton, Ottawa County, the state, the nation and even the world together to support this young brave 13 year old boy.

Devin was an eighth grader at Port Clinton Middle School who fought an aggressive form of brain cancer for over a year.
