Ciao Bella Ristorante Italiano opens April 16

Mel and Barb Ayers announce the April 16 opening of Ciao Bella Ristorante Italiano, their newest restaurant offering in the Port Clinton area. Located at 3880 Harbor Light Landing Drive off of State Route 53 in Harbor Light Landing, an open-air entertainment destination, Ciao Bella will be open year round for both lunch and dinner.

Expanding on their successful Nagoya Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi restaurants in Port Clinton and Perrysburg, the Ayers bring Ciao Bella and first-class Italian cuisine to the communities of the North Coast. Ciao Bella is a 5,000 square foot restaurant seating 165 diners. It offers a full service bar and lounge, outdoor waterside dining, traditional Italian cuisine and an extensive international wine list. The décor features rustic Italian influences.

Sousa Tribute Concert at EHOVE

EHOVE Career Center presents a concert tribute to John Philip Sousa on Sunday, April 14.  Sousa was a Marine Corps veteran, musical composer and band conductor in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

The tribute concert features Conductor Marcus Neiman and the Medina Community Band.  Guest Conductor Denise Reilly and some members of the Edison High School Band will also make an appearance.

Admission is free, with the concert starting at 2 p.m. in F Building at EHOVE Career Center located at 316 W. Mason Road in Milan Township.  Free lemonade and cookies will also be served.  More information is available at www.EHOVE.net or by calling 419-499-4663 x346.

Kelsey K. concert headlines Ottawa County Fairgrounds Arena Fundraiser

On May 3-5 country music's Kelsey K. and the Buffalo Ridge Band will be at the Ottawa County fairgrounds in Oak Harbor to headline the Arena Fundraiser. 

The arena at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds has a heavy clay mixture. The footing for horses and riders has been dependent on the weather conditions. On a hot day, the footing becomes loose and the dust kicked up causes decreased visibility and the horses, riders and spectators inhale the dust. When the arena is watered, the relief is temporary because the bottom layers of the arena are not properly irrigated. When it rains, which seems to often happen during Fair Week, the water pools and the footing becomes slick and dangerous. A properly irrigated and prepared arena can help solve all these problems.

Terra State announces guest artist for arts festival

Preparations are well underway for Terra State Community College’s annual “Celebration of the Arts” Festival, April 5-14. 

Each spring the college celebrates the fine, digital, performance, and culinary and literary arts with exhibits, presentations, performances and activities. This year includes special features such as the unveiling of a new monumental sculpture in Building D, collaborations with the Northcoast Arts Alliance in presenting a new regional Arts Showcase and Symposium and the annual recital and art show with Fremont City School’s art and music educators.
