On August 5, the American Red Cross is offering a skills class on Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED at Magruder Hospital. With an emphasis on hands-on learning, the course gives attendees the skills to save a life. Participants learn how to respond to common first aid emergencies, how to respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies in adults, the use of automated external defibrillators (AED) and more.
Blended learning courses allow flexibility to busy participants by completing their classroom training online and testing their skills in person. The skills test for Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED will be from 6-8 p.m. Those wishing to also include skills testing for the First Aid component will attend from 6.–8:30 p.m. Attendees receive a two year certification and access to free online refreshers upon completion.
The fee for the class is $90, $110 for the skill session.
Advance registration is required. To register and learn more information about the course, people can visit redcross.org/takeaclass or call 1- 800 RED CROSS.
