On Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. at the Danbury Track Danbury Local Schools will have a walk to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF). The event will include music and dancing, with donations collected upon entry. Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a life threatening genetic disorder that affects the lungs and the pancreas. People with CF need to take multiple medications and breathing treatments just to control the symptoms. CF is the leading cause of lung transplants in children.
Sarah Murnaghan made national news with her lung transplant this summer. Nan Sauber, a teacher in the district, has a niece and nephew who also suffer from Cystic Fibrosis.
