Honoring those lost at sea

Former Port Clinton Mayor (and former Marine) John Fritz served as master of ceremonies for the moving Memorial Day service at Port Clinton Yacht Club. This service honored those who lost their lives at sea. Wreaths were cast into the river from the City Harbor Patrol boat to honor them.

Walleye Festival parade: Rain free for 34 years

The Walleye Festival parade made its way around town from the Port Clinton High School Saturday, May 24, at 1 p.m. Residents and visitors lined the streets to watch the show. Judy Halsted, Christie Shull and Port Clinton Mayor Vince Leone were judges for the parade. Randy Hugg of the Mix 102.7 morning show was the announcer.

“This is the most beautiful Memorial Day weekend yet,” said Hugg, “which is great coming after the worst winter ever.”
