On Sunday, May 5, Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge is offering a free nature program, Birds and Branches, from 1:30-3 p.m., to explore the refuge for our feathered friends. 

On Sunday, May 12, experience Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge Complex on a Blue Goose Bus Tour. The trip leaves from the visitor center at 8 a.m. and returns at 11 a.m. after touring habitat hot-spots in the area (reservations required and destinations vary).

Andrew David Demshok, 90, of Oak Harbor, died early Wednesday morning, April 10, at his son's residence with his loving family by his side. Andrew was born September 29, 1922, in Belle Valley, Ohio, to George P. and Mary M. (Kauffman) Demshok.  

Funeral Mass was celebrated on April 11 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 215 Church St., Oak Harbor. Interment followed in Roose Cemetery, Oak Harbor, with military graveside services conducted. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.

Marjorie Eleanor Fish, 80, of Oak Ridge, TN, and formerly of Lakeside & Oak Harbor, OH, passed away Monday, April 8, at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor. Marjorie was born on September 19, 1932, in Cleveland, the daughter of Oren and Mary (Underwood) Fish Jr.
