PC defeats Clyde in soccer

Wednesday night Port Clinton boys soccer team hosted the Clyde Fliers at the stadium. The final score was Port Clinton 6,  lyde 3. The goals were produced by Josh Brown(2), Simon Shulz(3) and Carter Rumball (1). Assists were given by Josh Brown (2), Alec Ochs (1) and Carter Rumball (1). Tytan Rumball had 5 saves in goal for Port Clinton. There were 17 shots on goal by Port Clinton and Clyde had 8. 

Port Clinton’s record is currently 6-2-0 overall and 3-1-0 in the conference.

Redskins lose to Huron in volleyball

In Varsity action Tuesday night the Lady Redskins battled but lost 3 tough matches to Huron, 25-10, 25-16, 25-17. Sophomore Sydney Alexander had 8 kills for the Lady Redskins. Sophomore Marissa Day was 28 for 29 on serve receive while chipping in 19 digs. Senior Ericka Castillo had 10 digs for the Lady Redskins while senior setter Hannah had 15 assists. The Lady Redskins are back in action Thursday night at Clyde.

Governor Kasich speaks at Perry’s Victory Bicentennial Ceremony

Three nations’ flags flew high next to Perry’s Victory & International Peace Memorial on Tuesday, Sept. 10, those of Great Britain, Canada and the United States of America. Three national anthems were sung, God Save the Queen, O Canada and The Star Spangled Banner. A Native American blessing was given for the native people who had lost their lives in battle.

Gose's 4 TDs lead Genoa to big win

Casey Gose was a one-man wrecking crew for the Genoa Comets in their win over the Oak Harbor Rockets last Friday.

The senior scored four touchdowns on the night, one rushing, one receiving, one on a punt return and the other on a kickoff return to lead Genoa to a 63-7 victory over Oak Harbor to improve to 2-0 on the season.

Cancer Group sewing party

Those who like to sew are invited to gather Saturday, Sept. 21st, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Community Room of Ida Rupp Public Library, 310 Madison Street in Port Clinton, to sew pillowcases for kids hospitalized here in Northwest Ohio.
