Port Clinton Boys soccer team defeats Willard

Port Clinton Boys soccer team traveled to Willard Saturday. The final score was PC 6, Willard 2. The goals were made by Simon Shulz (3), Will Mercurio (1), Marcus Hogan (1) and Alex St. Leger (1). Assists were given by Carter Rumball (1), Jake Gulas (1) and Simon Shulz (1).  Willard’s two goals came by penalty kicks. Tytan Rumball had 2 saves in goal for Port Clinton. Port Clinton had (12) shots on goal.

 Ports Clinton’s record is 7-2-0 overall and 3-1-0 in conference play.


Football Friday

All area teams dropped decisions on Friday night. 

Port Clinton lost to Genoa, 84-13.

Oak Harbor lost to Eastwood, 56-7.

Danbury lost to St. Mary’s Central Catholic, 40-14.



Port Clinton Lighthouse Conservancy and city announce plans for lighthouse

It has been two years since the Port Clinton Lighthouse Conservancy was founded and began restoration. Just recently, the PCLC came to an agreement with the city to place the restored lighthouse on the north side of derby pond in Waterworks Park. Rich Norgard, president of the PCLC, said the organization is “appreciative of the city and in particular Mayor Leone for working with the conservancy to place the lighthouse in a place that’s mutually acceptable.”

Taize Prayer Service on Sept. 29

On Sunday Sept. 29th, a Taize Prayer Service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, 900 S. Jefferson Street Port Clinton, at 7 p.m. The service will be led by Rev. Robert Butcher, pastor emeritus of Firelands Presbyterian Church, and Gregory Fox, retired choral director.


All Howls Eve Gala

Ghouls and Goblins will gather for a Masquerade Ball as the moon rises and darkness falls on October 12. The fundraising event supports Another Chance Sanctuary, a no-kill safe haven for dogs, cats and all domestic animals.


187 combined years of volunteer service

These three exceptional men have 187 combined years of volunteer service to the Lakeside Volunteer Fire Department and are fine examples of commitment, selflessness, courage, and responsibility.  Any child or adult today would be fascinated by their stories and knowledge.
