The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department Special Response Team recently received their newly finished vehicle back from Jay’s Body Shop. The vehicle, which was purchased from the Harris Elmore Fire Department, was sent to Jay’s Body Shop to be sprayed and painted. The body shop did the job free of charge as a donation to the community.
“The vehicle was in good shape,” said Jay’s Body Shop manager Brian Ralston, “it just took some time to get the old lettering off. I have a great group of guys. When I asked my team to help, they were happy and willing to volunteer their time.”
The vehicle will be used to transport people and equipment to and from the locations where needed.
Right now the Erie Ottawa International Airport is housing the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department vehicles. “We consider the airport a crucial partner and home of the Special Response Team. It’s awesome to have that resource to keep vehicles pristine and in good condition,” said Ottawa County Sheriff Steve Levorchick.
