The Sportsmen’s Migratory Bird Center located at Magee Marsh Wildlife Area is closed after a water leak was found on the second floor of the building.
According to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Wildlife, water damaged the restrooms and the aquarium room on the first floor, but fortunately none of the displays were damaged. Professional engineers will examine the building to evaluate the extent of the damage to the structure and electrical systems of the facility.
Once the report from the engineers has been received, options to repair the facility will be evaluated.
The building will remain closed until further notice. The boardwalk remains open for use.
