Swingsters to Perform at East Harbor State Park

East Harbor State Park will be featuring their Friday Night Musicfest, Friday, June 27, from 6:30-9 p.m. in front of the East Harbor State Park Camp Store.

East Harbor will be presenting The Swingsters from the Toledo and Oregon area. When listening to The Swingsters, listeners are transported to a time of the Glen Miller Orchestra or the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra.

This 25 piece orchestra includes vocalists, a full contingent of horns, including sousaphones, clarinets, flutes and it is required for them to have the baritone horn, which makes them more of a Big Band Orchestra.

Join us for this great free entertainment. Donations to the band will be gratefully accepted. Bring a lawn chair and your dancing shoes. This concert is open to the public and there is plenty of parking. Pizza, snacks and hand-dipped Toft’s ice cream will be available for purchase in the Camp Store.

White pelicans spotted at East Harbor

White pelicans were found passing through our area last week and were spotted at East Harbor State Park. In breeding season, American white pelicans are found mostly inland, nesting on isolated islands in lakes and feeding on shallow lakes, rivers and marshes. Migrating flocks of pelicans rest on lakes and rivers along the way to estuaries and larger lakes in warmer climates.
