Capturing the Mississippi

We have just completed our 10th day on the river and are feeling great. Our daily routine is to wake up at 6:30 and get on the water by 8 a.m. We try to complete roughly 30 miles per day and average about 5 m.p.h., so we spend about 6-9 hours on the water each day. Once we're done for the day we are usually exhausted. Until yesterday, towns in northern Minnesota on the river were each about 5 days apart. Now, though, they are getting closer and we couldn't be happier.
