ElderCollege to present noted historian on the War of 1812

On Oct. 25, the ElderCollege program at Terra State Community College will be hosting a day-long seminar by noted writer and historian Randy Buchman.

He will speak on the topic of “The War of the Ohio Frontier,” covering the War of 1812. Topics will include: why a war, who were these people, and the roles the stars and their supporting cast played on the Ohio Frontier 200 years ago.
Buchman, retired from the City of Defiance, is a well-known historian, author and speaker on the subject of the War of 1812 and the many native Americans that inhabited this area.

ElderCollege, a membership organization at Terra, is open to adults age 50 and beyond who share a common desire to learn. No previous college experience is necessary; just a desire to learn. The course schedule varies from term to term but typically includes such topics as history, art and music. There are also several educational outing opportunities during each term not limited to those 50 or older.
