Handbell choir performs for Quarter ceremony

The Immaculate Conception Parish Children’s Handbell Choir performed at last weekend’s Perry’s Victory quarter release at Put in Bay. The quarter is the 17th in the U.S. Mint’s America the Beautiful Quarters Program, which honors national parks or other national sites in each state, the District of Columbia and U.S. territories.

The group of eight, led by IC Music Director Mary Krejci and Parish Organist George Krejci, traveled to Put-In-Bay early Saturday.  The event had to be moved indoors to the Niagara Event Center due to weather.  The handbell choir performed the song “America the Beautiful” before a crowd of 550-600 people.  The kids thought it was an amazing experience and were honored to be asked to participate.  The group ranges in age from 3rd grade to 8th grade and has been practicing for this event for several weeks. Members of the Immaculate Conception Hand Bell Choir are Arianna Carter, Alyssa Diaz, Jacob Fleck, Adrianna Hummel, Claudia Rosiar, Ryan Zam, Ella Roberts, and Hannah Roberts.
