The Port Clinton Artist’s Club has donated $600 in art scholarships in 2012.
Ilene Hamilton, from Terra State Community College, received $300 and is a second-year student. She won Best of Show in the school’s recent art show.
Port Clinton High School students from art teacher Cheryl Knapp’s classes have also been chosen for scholarships. First place of $100 went to Katrina Lindsley; second place, $75, went to Taylor Gray; third, $50, went to Kayleigh Householder; and three prizes for honorable mention, $25 each, went to Eryn Binder, Teri Metcalf and Cameron Albright.
Judges Rosemary Schramm, Alice Holly and June Douglas said it was a difficult decision process because everything at the recent show held at the Port Clinton Performing Art Center was so well executed. They were all winners.
Over many years, the Port Clinton Artists Club has donated thousands of dollars for the development of students in fine art. You may view art club members’ work at many local establishments and galleries.
