Ida Rupp hosts geeks all summer long

William Johnson and his mom, Ida Rupp administrative assistant Amber Cupp, at the I Geek Science program.

The Ida Rupp library has a reoccurring geek theme all summer, highlighting topics that people are passionate, or that they geek, about.  Included within this theme was the children’s program I Geek Science, which included activities of creating a stop-motion animation film, creating a catapult with items found throughout the house, and creating rubber band cars.

Do you believe in Bigfoot?

The Ida Rupp Public Library is continuing their Do You Believe series with Do You Believe in Bigfoot! Southeastern Ohio Society for Bigfoot Investigation will be attending Thursday, June 19, at 6:30 p.m. All ages are welcome and refreshments will be served. The series is held at the Ida Rupp Library located at 310 Madison Street, Port Clinton.

Library to continue Photoshop classes

The Ida Rupp Public Library in Port Clinton will be continuing to offer its classes on Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 this summer. “Photoshop Elements is the most popular of all the photo editing software programs available to the photographic enthusiast today,” says Bill Gordon, the instructor for the new classes. “This program is the best way to elevate your photography to the next level,” he adds.

Mr. Gordon received a bachelor of fine arts degree from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA, and has been a professional photographer for over 30 years. He has taken many classes and attended numerous seminars on Photoshop in addition to working with the program on a daily basis for 15 years. He and his wife Mary own Photomaker Studios in Port Clinton.
