Lifelong Learning at Terra State offers Saturdays are for Kids

Saturdays are for Kids is an exciting hands-on series offered this fall by Lifelong Learning at Terra State Community College.

The classes are geared toward students in grades 1 through 6 who love to try new things.

Students can register for each class individually but will receive a 20 percent discount for enrolling in three or more. Class sizes are limited to eight.

The Harry Stensen Memorial Fund recently made a $10,000 donation to Terra State Community College for an endowed scholarship fund to assist Port Clinton High School graduates with their studies at the college.

“This is the first scholarship fund we have that specifically benefits Port Clinton students,” said Lisa Williams, Executive Director of the Terra College Foundation. “We are so appreciative to those who have been instrumental in this donation.”

Terra State offers Instant Enrollment Days, weekend hours

Fall semester at Terra State Community College begins August 20, and there is still time and opportunities to enroll.

There is still an all-in-one-day event scheduled for Aug. 14, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. These days are designed to make the enrollment process more convenient. Students will be able to complete COMPASS placement, CORE Orientation, meet with an academic advisor, and register, all in one day.

“Of course, you can stop in any weekday and we can help you get registered and enrolled,” said Cory Stine, Dean of Enrollment Services. “But on these Thursdays, the process is even easier.” To ensure your seat, RSVP at 419-559-2349.

Also, to assist those who work during the week, the College will be open on two consecutive Saturdays, Aug. 9 and 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The following areas will be ready to assist: Admissions/Advising, Records/Registration, Financial Aid, Cashier, Testing Center and HelpDesk/Library.

Again, for more information, call the Admissions Office at 419-559-2349.
