FFA packs tree seedlings

Oak Harbor FFA students and Ottawa SWCD Staff packed tree seedlings for the Ottawa Soil and Water Conservation District at Moore Orchards. The annual tree sale program has been offered to landowners for over 40 years. Offered are varieties of small seedlings, shrubs and larger hardwoods. Native plant seed packets were also available.

COSI comes to ICS

On Wednesday, April 24, young minds got a jolt of energy when COSI (Center of Science and Industry) brought its traveling science program, Investigating Energy, to Immaculate Conception School in Port Clinton for a day of learning. 

Investigating Energy is one of six traveling science demonstrations from COSI.

Mueller commits to Northwood

Redskin Golfer Jason Mueller announced today he will continue his education and golf career as a Timberwolf at Northwood College in Midland, Michigan. Mueller was a four-year letter winner at Port Clinton, team captain, SBC Honorable Mention 2010 and 2011,SBC Second Team 2012, Coach’s Award 2012,SBC All Academic Team 2012, Member of Back to Back SBC Championship Teams 2011 & 2012, Member of Sectional Championship Team 2012,Member of Ottawa County Championship Team 2012, Ottawa County First Team 2012,Lake Erie Junior Golf Association Participant. 

Mueller was also a two year letter winner in basketball, SBC All Academic Team 2012, Ohio High School Coaches Association Scholarship Society Award 2013 and Captain Award

Handbell choir performs for Quarter ceremony

The Immaculate Conception Parish Children’s Handbell Choir performed at last weekend’s Perry’s Victory quarter release at Put in Bay. The quarter is the 17th in the U.S. Mint’s America the Beautiful Quarters Program, which honors national parks or other national sites in each state, the District of Columbia and U.S. territories.
