B-C-S Schools are ‘Excellent with Distinction’

 

It is with great pride that the B-C-S School District Community received official word recently that the district earned the highest possible rating on its local report card for the 2011-2012 school year. The local report card was slated to be released in August, 2012, but was held up due to a statewide audit of student data by the State Auditor. The report card was just released in late February.

Rite of passage at EHOVE

EHOVE Adult Career Center School of Practical Nursing students participated in a well-known rite of passage in their training, the capping ceremony.  The ceremony marks the halfway point of nursing school as an acknowledgement of the students’ success in reaching that point, and encouragement in reaching their final goal.

PCMS 6th grade Orchestra Registration

Port Clinton Middle School grade 8 students recently visited with Bataan Intermediate grade 5 students.  The visit was to promote the PCMS Orchestra program, the only one in the county, which begins in grade 6. There will be a a Parent Open House on Tuesday, March 19, at Port Clinton Middle School from 6:30 – 8 p.m. At the Open House parents of current grade 5 students and potential students can come at their convenience and talk with Mr. Brian Stitak about the string program. Representatives from local music stores will also be in attendance with information about instrument rental. A webcast of the visit can be seen under PCMS videos at www.pccsd.net

Port Clinton High School to Host Job Fair

On March 19 Port Clinton High School will be hosting a job fair. While the job fair is to help students gain knowledge of career skills, it will also help local businesses fill their summer employment needs. Potential employers from the tri-county area are invited to attend. 

Business owners or operators with summer staffing needs are invited to be part of the job fair.


The Job Fair will be held on Tuesday, March 19, from 1-3 p.m. for Port Clinton High School students.

Rocket seniors complete 9-game turnaround

Behind a senior quartet that was intent on turning the basketball program around and leaving behind a legacy, the Oak Harbor Rockets lifted their win total from nine to 16 games this season.

After going 7-14 overall and 3-11 in the Sandusky Bay Conference last season, good for the seventh place, Oak Harbor rebounded to go 16-8 and 8-6 in the league, finishing fourth. On top of that, the Rockets finished the year on a high note, winning six straight games before falling to Port Clinton, 52-45, in a Division II Sectional Final on Feb. 23 at Sandusky High School.
