On behalf of United Way and Lake Erie Adventure Play, we would like to thank the graduating class of Leadership Ottawa County for their outstanding support of families and children in Ottawa County. On April 26 the LOC, under the leadership of Marcia Jess, sponsored a Pop Up Talent Show at the Elks Lodge to help raise funds for a new United Way program, Lake Erie Adventure Play (LEAP). LEAP's mission is to provide child-directed play opportunities that foster innovative thinking, creative problem solving, and healthy risk taking for local children and families. Heartfelt thanks go out to LOC 2014: Amy Simkus, Andrew Wells, Becky Simpson, Dawn Segaard, Diane Ball, Kathy Berger, Kathy Dale, Kirsten Trammel, Laurie Cleaver, Steve Hall, Steve Lange and Vern Shepherd.
The food prepared by Port Clinton Elks Lodge 1718 was phenomenal, and the entertainment was delightful. The Naked Bacon Band with Steve Hall, Dave Hermes, and Sara Rine provided the music for the gathering. Among those who bravely shared their talents were: John Schaffner, Kendra German, Steve Levorchik, Pat Adkins, Rob Hickman, Steve Lange, Chris Galvin, Jim Sass, Ann Duez, and Timothy Nyman.
