LEAP thank you

LEAP thank you

On behalf of United Way and Lake Erie Adventure Play, we would like to thank the graduating class of Leadership Ottawa County for their outstanding support of families and children in Ottawa County. On April 26 the LOC, under the leadership of Marcia Jess, sponsored a Pop Up Talent Show at the Elks Lodge to help raise funds for  a new United Way program, Lake Erie Adventure Play (LEAP). LEAP's mission is to provide child-directed play opportunities that foster innovative thinking, creative problem solving, and healthy risk taking for local children and families. Heartfelt thanks go out to LOC 2014: Amy Simkus, Andrew Wells, Becky Simpson, Dawn Segaard, Diane Ball, Kathy Berger, Kathy Dale, Kirsten Trammel, Laurie Cleaver, Steve Hall, Steve Lange and Vern Shepherd.

The food prepared by Port Clinton Elks Lodge 1718 was phenomenal, and the entertainment was delightful. The Naked Bacon Band with Steve Hall, Dave Hermes, and Sara Rine provided the music for the gathering.  Among those who bravely shared their talents were: John Schaffner, Kendra German, Steve Levorchik, Pat Adkins, Rob Hickman, Steve Lange, Chris Galvin, Jim Sass, Ann Duez, and Timothy Nyman.

Items for the Silent Auction  and other contributions were donated by Barbara Radebaugh, Baskets by E.C.I., Bench’s Greenhouse, Black Tie Dance Studio, Catawba Island Club, Coffee Express, Croghan Colonial Bank, Danbury Township, Dianne Rozak, Dr. Matthew and Shannon Horn, First Energy, Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, Hot Shots Photography & Design, Imagine Art, Island Tan, John Kroger, Lakevue Marine, Marilyn’s Two @ Lakeside, Mary Dare, Mary’s Blossom Shoppe, Miller Boat Line, Monsoon Lagoon, North Coast Family Chiropractic, Oak Harbor Chamber of Commerce, Ohler and Holzhauer, Otterbein North Shore, Perfect Color Hair and Tan, Pier 53, Port Clinton Arts Council, Prudential, Red, White, & Brew, Rescue Marine, Terra State Community College, The Crafty Needle, The United Way, Thrivent Financial, Train-O-Rama, US Gypsum, Victorian Inn Boutique,  and the Y.M.C.A. Staff. In addition, Judge Bruce Winters generously donated his winnings from the 50/50 raffle back to LEAP.

We are proud to live and work in a community where the organizations and businesses are willing to give generously of their time and money to help families create healthy, well adjusted and creative children. Once again, thank you all for your support.

Sincerely,
