Friends of the Cemetery

Yes, someone believes in us and it feels so good! Over the last year and a half the Friends of the Port Clinton Cemeteries have been concentrating all their efforts on finding a way to pave the cemetery roads. We knew it would not be easy because the price tag on such a project is large, but we also knew that it was a project we must undertake. It was decided the best way to achieve our goal was to do it in phases starting with the outer perimeter of Riverview Cemetery.

We have been holding fundraisers and applying for grants but because of the enormity of the project at times it felt out of our reach.

Yet, someone believes in us and that someone is the Stenson Foundation! Because of the generosity of the Stenson Foundation phase one will be complete before this year comes to a close. We all have a moral obligation to honor the dead and for that reason our mission statement is “to ensure that the properties in and around the parameters of the cemeteries are always worthy of those who lie within”.

From the bottom of our hearts we offer thanks to the Stenson Foundation not only for understanding the moral obligation we all have, but also for trusting in us to carry out the mission by paving the cemetery roads.

Once phase one is complete we will continue to strive for our goal of completing all other phases of this project and we ask for the communities support in our future fundraising efforts.

Sincerely,
Port Clinton Friends of the Cemeteries
