Thank you for the random act of kindness

We would like to say “thank you” and send a big hub to the young couple that paid our dinner check at Casa Las Palmas on Wednesday, Jan. 9.
We were totally unaware of their actions until we asked for our bill and the waitress said that it had been taken care of! We were truly at a loss for words.

The Village Square

Happy New Year everybody! 
We had 11 new homes built in the Village in 2012, and 16 house additions, which included seven decks. This was twice as many additions than last year and about same number of new construction. We built half a dozen garages and sheds and four fences (remember the good side faces your neighbor!). Jamestown Tavern put in an outdoor expansion and Bay Point built a new store. There were two Waterfront Development permits and the Planning Commission ruled on seven new cases at public hearings, including two subdivisions representing six new buildable lots. The Planning Commission also held several informal meetings with local developers for upcoming projects.

The success of Ottawa County is NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING.  I say this each and every year that I have been the Director for The Salvation Army.  Each year our Red Kettle Goal is given to us by The Northwest Ohio Salvation Army in Toledo.

Lakeside VFD

The Lakeside Volunteer Fire Department is very grateful for the strong community support given by individuals, businesses, community organizations and churches. This year’s annual support response has been tremendous which assists in purchasing equipment and offering Fire and EMS Services to the residents and visitors of Danbury Township.

National Debt

I have been unable to comprehend how our leaders and population can accept the fact that our country can spend more money than what it is GIVEN to operate.  I repeat, what is given TO OPERATE ITS ACTIVITIES.  Our country does not earn income as it relies only what we are asked or maybe demanded to give. What a wonderful system that is presently out of control.
