Sign up now for alumni soccer game
Oak Harbor High School is inviting alumni soccer players to the “almost-annual” game planned for 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, on the new soccer complex field.
Organizers are asking for a $5 donation to play in the game and previous team jerseys will be available for alumni (hopefully they’ll still fit).
A $1 donation might be asked of “fans” to enter the gate, but everything is in the preparation stages at this point.
If there is a good response, the game will continue in the future and alumni game T-shirts will be provided to players for their fee.
Spread the word to other former players — via email, facebook — and RSVP by email to

McQuoid wins FLW Walleye Tour event
Coming into the National Guard FLW Walleye Tour on Lake Erie presented by Dr. Pepper only two anglers could state that they had won three FLW Walleye Tour events – Walmart pro Dean Arnoldussen and National Guard pro Bill Shimota. On Saturday, pro Kevin McQuoid of Isle, Minn., added his name to that elite list as he claimed the third title of his National Guard FLW Walleye Tour career. After bringing five walleyes weighing 38 pounds, 8 ounces to the scales, McQuoid’s three-day total of 15 walleyes weighing 118 pounds, 4 ounces was enough to claim the victory and the $63,000 paycheck in Port Clinton.
