Redskins drop to 1-2

The Port Clinton Redskins had a good night on Friday and a bad night on Saturday. The result was a weekend split, as they demolished Edison 67-48 on Friday night, then followed it up with a horrendous shooting against Woodmore in a 46-40 loss on Saturday night.Steve Wingo puts up a shot against Edison. The Redskins relied on hot shooting on Friday night and a big first half explosion. Brandon Stubblefield again had a big game with 20 points to lead a balanced Redskin offense. The PC defense turned in a stellar performance as well. The Redskins also dominated the boards allowing Edison only 14 rebounds for the entire game.

Unfortunately for Coach Troy Diels and his players, the shots that were falling like raindrops on Friday night were clanging off the rim on Saturday night against Woodmore. They managed only 40 points as they hit only four of 23 on 3-point shots and only nine of 22 on shots from inside the arc. The loss dropped PC to 1-2 on the season.
The Redskins play three games this week, Tuesday night at home against Tiffin Columbian, Thursday night at Oak Harbor and Saturday night back home against Margaretta. The Rockets have struggled this season, getting used to a new system and a new head coach. Margaretta, on the other hand, has started well this year, winning Friday night for Coach Troy Roth’s 100th career victory.
