PCHS Power Lifters compete at Kenton Invitational

Port Clinton High School Power Lifters traveled to the Kenton Invitational Power lifting Meet on Saturday, Jan. 26. 

The students work and condition with Coach Phil Fought in the new weight room at True Lay Stadium. This is the third year the athletes participated in the meet and the training was in addition to their regular weightlifting workout. 

At the meet, individuals are divided into weight class based on their body weight and place according to the combined weight lifted in bench, squat and dead lift.  Participants were  Kevin Mabe, Jesse Escobedo, Robert Beck, Cole Araguz, Andrew Cline, Alec Ochs and Jacob Carrisales.
Jacob Carrisales took first place in the 175 lb. weight class; Robert Beck was 2nd in the 250 lb. class; Kevin Mabe was 2nd in the unlimited weight class; Cole Araguz was 3rd in the 145 lb. class; Andrew Cline was 6th in the 210 lb. class and Alec Ochs was 8th in the 155 lb. class.
