Despite holding a seven-point lead early in the fourth quarter, Port Clinton let the lead slip away before falling to Clyde, 52-48.
Trailing 40-33, the Fliers went on a 15-6 run, taking the lead for good at 48-46 on a 12-foot jumper by Hannah Wadsworth.
On Clyde’s ensuing possession, forward Amanda Cahill hit a three-pointer to make it a five-point game with 1:23 to play.
The ‘Skins were able to cut the deficit to 51-48 with under a minute to play, but Hope Thorbahn misfired on a three-pointer that would’ve tied it.
Cahill led all scorers with 26 points and Wadsworth and Lexi Weber finished with eight points apiece.
Thorbahn led Port Clinton with 16 points, Tiffany Colston had 14 and Hannah Weaver finished with 13.
With the win, Clyde clinches at least a share of the Sandusky Bay Conference title for the third consecutive year, improving to 19-0 and 12-0 in the league. The ‘Skins, meanwhile, fall to 16-3 and 10-2 in the SBC.
Port Clinton travels to Milan to face Edison on Thursday.
