The Port Clinton Bowlers traveled to Plaza Lanes in Fremont Friday and split the Boys and Girls matches with the Fliers in non-conference action.
The Lady Redskins edged the Lady Fliers 2171-2162. Freshman Katelyn Chapman rolled her highest games 157-156 and Alysia Zoeller rolled 163-177 to lead PC. Sam Stroupe rolled 156 and Kayler Vollmer a 145 for the Redskins, now 16-4 on the season. Kylie Mush led the Lady Fliers with 192-202 for a 394 series.
The Clyde Boys rolled a 3089 series to defeat the Redskin Boys who rolled 2866. Isaac Milleson led the Fliers with 247-189, Steve Cleveland 194-238, and Dillon Holmes 188-234. Sean Black led the Redskins with 289-227 for a two game series of 516 and Dave Wilburn added 201-191. Sean rolled the first 10 strikes the first game before leaving a two pin on the 11th shot.
"I just wanted to make a nice smooth shot to set myself up for something I had not accomplished before, a 300 game. Unfortunately, my shot was in the oil too long and didn't recover. Next time, hopefully,” said Sean.
"We shot a 955 average and lost," lamented PC Coach Bob Black. "Our kids scored pretty good, but Clyde bowled better. Better spare shooting could have made the match closer. We have to fix that before sectionals next week."
