Behind a stellar performance from junior Cheyenne Meek, the Port Clinton girls swim team finished 13th at the Division II State Meet.
Meek placed in fourth events, two individually and two via relays.
Individually, she finished fourth in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.69 seconds and was fifth in the 100 free in 51.80.
Along with McKenzie Stine, Alyssa Zoeller and Allie Schoreder, Meek helped the ‘Skins finish ninth in the 200 medley relay in 1:52.77.
She was also part of the 200 free relay team of Stine, Schroeder and Taylor Steyer that was 15th in 1:41.41.
As a team, Port Clinton finished with 51 points, just ahead of Cincinnati Country Day and Perkins, who tied for 14th with 48 points apiece.
Oak Harbor senior Derek Griffin also placed, earning All-Ohio status when he finished 16th in the diving competition with 286 points. Port Clinton’s Emily Zibert was 21st in the girls’ competition with 140.55 points.
