Port Clinton’s Redskin Bowlers rolled their best matches of the season in sweeping the varsity teams from Huron at Star Lanes at the Harbor Thursday, Jan. 23.
The Lady ‘Skins missed a school record by 1 pin by defeating the Lady Tigers 2576-2356. Port Clinton rolled games of 837-838 and added 901 in Baker, to Huron’s 788-735 and 833 in Baker. PC is now 14-0.
“Huron’s girls have really improved,” said Redskin Coach Bob Black. “We knew we would be challenged and our girls really bowled great. Kassidy continued her outstanding bowling with a 399 series, and Alysia rolled 391. Hopefully we are peaking at the right time for the upcoming tournaments.”
Kassidy Mahler led the ‘Skins with games of 198-201, and Alysia Zoeller rolled 204-187. Sam Stroupe added 161-182 for the ‘Skins.
Jodi Minton rolled 228-172 for the Tigers and Jordan Prosser added 170-194.
Port Clinton’s Boys rolled to a 2964-2872 win over the Tigers.
“We knew we had to bowl a great match to compete with Huron, they were State Qualifiers last year and returned all their players this year. With Dave’s outstanding 491, 3 scores in the 380s, and a fine 957 Baker set we were able to upset them. The boys are doing their best bowling now, and we hope it continues Saturday at the Redskin Tournament.”
Dave Wilburn rolled a season high 491 series on games of 234-257 to lead the ‘Skins. Caleb Conrad added 206-180, Jacob Reed208-175, Darryl Trent 211-170, and Cameron Bice a 203.
B. Battiste led the Tigers with 189-232, J. Stutzman 168-236, B. Gosser 205, and J.Minton 194.
