The Oak Harbor Rockets took control early and defeated Danbury, 62-32, in non-conference action Saturday in Marblehead. Oak Harbor (6-14) outscored the Lakers 17-3 in the first quarter to control and led 35-9 at halftime.
Tyler Sievert led all scorers with 13 points and Cole Weirich and Andre Ramsey finished with nine points apiece. Caleb Gerber had eight points to lead Danbury (4-16). Seth Vargo chipped in with six points and Connor Lenthe finished with five.
Perkins 53, Oak Harbor 36
Perkins slowly built its lead on its way to defeating Oak Harbor, 53-36, in Sandusky Bay Conference action last weekend. The Pirates led 13-7 after the first quarter and 27-12 at halftime.
Nic Williams led all scorers with 23 points and Kyle Lewis added 13 for Perkins. Oak Harbor, which dropped to 0-12 in the SBC with the loss, got six points apiece from Tate Haar and Cole Weirich and five points from both Paul Shay and Andy Rathbun.
The Rockets host Margaretta and Huron this weekend before facing Port Clinton on Tuesday at 6:15 p.m. at Willard High School in the Division II Sectional Tournament.
