On Monday, August 11, from 4-5 p.m. children were invited to read books and make crafts with members of the Port Clinton Redskin football team. The football players also signed autographs and played games with their fans.

“I got the idea from another public library and thought it would be great to implement this program here,” said Teen Librarian Alana Magrum. “We want to get the community more involved with the library and we would love to do this event again next year.”

Ten PC Redskin football players came to the event: Three team captains Keegan Lowe, Cal Laurel and Stefan Daniels; David Douglas; Frank Lombardo; Andrew Cline; Eric Wheeler; Zach Kokinda; Joe Rijas; and Joey Brenner.

“When the library called to offer this to us, I wasn’t going to pass it up,” said Coach Carmon of the PCHS football team. “It gives the guys a great opportunity to give back to the community. We’ve got good kids. It’s great to show the community the kind of kids we have on and off the field.”
