Port Clinton High School Spring Sports Awards Program

Port Clinton High School held their annual Spring Sports Awards Program on Tuesday, May 27.  Student athletes, parents and coaches gathered in the PCHS Performing Arts Center to recognize to student athletes that earned All-SBC or All-District Honors and also SBC All-Academic Awards. Afterward, each team had individual breakout sessions or a separate program to present the following special awards.

Oak Harbor defeats Scott to advance to sectional final

The Oak Harbor Rockets baseball team defeated Toledo Scott, 19-0, in five innings, in their Division II Sectional Semifinal matchup on Saturday at Oak Harbor High School.

Oak Harbor took control early, scoring nine runs in the first inning to effectively put the game away early on. The Rockets then added three runs in the third and seven in the fourth to account for their 19 runs.

A number of Oak Harbor hitters contributed to help account for the scoring. Caleb Turco had a triple and three RBIs, Garrett Harvey finished with three RBIs, Andy Rathbun finished with one hit, two RBIs and two runs, Ryan Pavlica went 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run and David Tooman had a double and an RBI.

Harvey got the win on the mound, allowing no runs to go with seven strikeouts in 2.1 innings of work.

Oak Harbor plays Defiance at Thursday at 5 p.m. The Bulldogs won the Division II State Championship last season.
