Facing one of northwest Ohio’s best teams, the Danbury Lakers fell, 79-32, to Toledo Christian last week.

The Eagles controlled things from the beginning, taking a 26-4 lead after one quarter before pushing the lead to 46-9 at the half.

Port Clinton rebounds from loss to defeat Edison

Following a heartbreaking loss to Clyde last weekend, the Port Clinton girls’ basketball team responded with a resounding victory over Edison, 49-25, Thursday to improve to 17-3 overall and 11-2 in the Sandusky Bay Conference.

The Redskins controlled the game throughout, taking a 32-6 lead into halftime as they cruised to victory. Hannah Weaver led all scorers with 16 points and Emily Ashley chipped in with 14 as Port Clinton shot a stellar 63 percent from the field in the first two quarters.

Ciara Reed had 11 points to lead the Chargers.

The ‘Skins finish the regular season with home games against Fremont Ross (Tuesday) and Huron (Thursday). Port Clinton has yet to face Ross this season but did defeat Huron in the first matchup.

PC boys fall to Fliers

Behind 19 points from point guard Derek Gray, the Clyde Fliers defeated Port Clinton, 68-47, last Friday.

With the win, the Fliers improved to 12-6 and 7-3 in the SBC while the ‘Skins fell to 3-14 and 3-9 in the league.
