PC boys baseball defeat Huron

Port Clinton 12, Huron 5

The Port Clinton baseball team got a big win last week, defeating Huron, 12-5, to improve to 6-9 overall and 2-2 in the Sandusky Bay Conference.

In a back-and-forth game that had two ties and two lead changes, Trey Gluth hit a two-run home run to break a 4-4 tie and give the 'Skins the lead for good.

Entering the bottom of the fifth with the scored tied at 4, Port Clinton proceeded to score eight runs in the next two innings to break open the game.

Cory Colston got the win, allowing four runs in five innings and striking out four. He had two hits and two RBIs at the plate, as did Zak Floro. Jason Bailey contributed with a double and two RBIs.

Oak Harbor softball defeats St. Mary’s

Oak Harbor 4, St. Mary CC 1

The Rockets took control of the game in the fourth inning, breaking a 1-1 tie by scoring two runs to take the lead for good.

Sam Durivage (10-3) got the win, allowing one run on two hits. She struck out two and walked a batter.

At the plate, Theresa Stokes led the way with two hits and an RBI and Rebecca Florio had a double and scored a run.

Perkins 10, Oak Harbor 1

Darcy Daniel hit a three-run home run in the first inning to get Perkins off to a fast start in its 10-1 victory over Oak Harbor.

Rebecca Florio had the Rockets' lone RBI, driving in Kimmi Wahlers in the fifth inning.

With the loss, Oak Harbor fell to 14-3 overall and 4-2 in the SBC.

OH boys defeat Lakota at Fifth-Third Field

Oak Harbor got off to a fast start, scoring four runs in the first two innings on its way to defeating Lakota, 8-6, at Fifth-Third Field on Saturday.

Andy Rathbun led the way by going 2-for-2 with a double, an RBI, two runs and three stolen bases. Mark Konieczny had an RBI and scored twice and Garrett Harvey had two hits and drove in a run.

Danbury takes two from Bettsville

Danbury 15, Bettsville 4 (5 inn.)

Sam Puckett got the victory in both games to help the Lakers improve to 2-6 on the season. 

In the first game, Danbury broke open a 1-0 game with eight runs in the fourth and fifth innings to take a 9-0 lead. In the second contest, the Lakers broke a 4-4 tie with five runs in the third innings. Kylah Mitchell had a home run and AllisaRae Barree had two hits and drove in a run.

Danbury defeats Old Fort at Fifth-Third Field

Behind a fine pitching performance from starter Chase Botson, the Danbury Lakers defeated Old Fort, 11-0, in five innings at Fifth-Third Field.

Botson gave up just two hits and struck out six batters in five innings. He also did well at the plate, getting on base three times, stealing two bases and scoring twice. 

Mike Stys went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs, Zack Kalinoski was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Taylon Molnar went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
